Breaking new information coming on Monday indicated that actor Kevin Spacey, known for his anti-Trump stances and high-profile legal issues stemming from allegations of sexual misconduct, will face felony charges of sexual assault against a teenager.
Per The Guardian
Kevin Spacey has laid into Donald Trump during a standup routine at the Cannes film festival, calling the Republican presidential hopeful a “disease”.
Performing at a event to raise money for Aids charities, Spacey opened his routine dressed as the late talk show host Johnny Carson. He told the audience that regular host, Sharon Stone, was unable to make it because she was fighting a disease, adding: “The name of the disease is Donald Trump.”
While details remain murky, the charges reportedly stem from an incident in a bar in 2016, where the actor is accused of having assaulted the teenage son of a Boston news anchor.
According to attorneys, the actor is set to be arraigned on at least one charge of indecent assault and battery early in January.
Once a prominent actor, Spacey has recently faced multiple allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior, some of which date back decades, and remains one of the biggest Hollywood names to be caught in the “Me Too” scandal.
From The Boston Globe:
Actor Kevin Spacey faces a felony charge for allegedly sexually assaulting the teenage son of former Boston WCVB-TV news anchor Heather Unruh at a Nantucket bar in July 2016, authorities said Monday.
Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe said that Spacey was due to be arraigned on a charge of indecent assault and battery at Nantucket District Court on Jan. 7.
O’Keefe said that a public show-cause hearing was held in the case on Dec. 20. There, Clerk Magistrate Ryan Kearney issued a criminal complaint for the charge “against Kevin S. Fowler, also known as Kevin Spacey,” O’Keefe said by phone Monday reading from a prepared statement.
