BREAKING: Naomi Rao Confirmed to Fill Kavanaugh’s Old Spot in Party Line Vote

On Wednesday, Neomi Rao, President Trump’s nominee to replace Brett Kavanaugh’s empty Appeals Court seat following his appointment to the Supreme Court, was confirmed by the Senate following a contentious hearing.

The 45-year-old Rao was confirmed in a 53-46 vote along party lines, with no Democrats supporting her.

Rao has faced a litany of pushback from Democrats and left-wing activist groups since her nomination by the president, with critics attacking her positions on abortion and government de-regulation.

Trump supporters celebrated the decision on social media, with some pointing out that the opposition faced by Rao was largely due to the fact that she was nominated by President Trump, as as been the case for the president’s other nominees.
