Late night comedian Seth Meyers is facing mounting backlash for a tweet mocking victims of illegal immigrant crime, which was made in response to President Trump’s primetime address on Tuesday evening.
Meyers, an outspoken critic of the president and his administration, asked, “Is this Oval Office: SVU?” regarding Trump’s mentioning of American citizens who were killed at the hands of illegal immigrants.

Meyers’ comments did not sit well on social media, with pundits flocking to share their disgust.
By Wednesday evening, the remarks, which notably did come from Meyers’ “Late Night with Seth Meyers” account, rather than his personal one, had continued to draw mounting backlash, including former Fox News host Megyn Kelly and others.
I’m sure that’s hysterical to the families of the murder victims the president just discussed. https://t.co/XOOWeWZMSp

Several years ago I sat behind Seth Meyers at a Yankee game & accidentally spilled a beer on him. I apologized. I withdraw that apology. https://t.co/sy2E8GuKMQ

Mocking murder victims is funny to Seth Meyers https://t.co/g1vLDJ39A6

Why is @NBC mocking Americans who are murdered by illegal aliens? Trump addresses the effects of illegal aliens flooding into our country, and @SethMeyers thinks it’s funny. Sick. https://t.co/QGg3U4lV6K
