Ocasio-Cortez Says Caravan Migrants Acting “More American” Than Trump Supporters

Newly-elected Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared on MSNBC following President Trump’s border security address from the Oval Office.

During her interview with Rachel Maddow, Ocasio-Cortez suggested that the illegal aliens at the border are more “American” than the people who support border security.

Breitbart reported on her MSNBC appearance and critique of President Trump’s address:

“In the actual address, there was falsehood after falsehood and we have to make sure that we get our facts straight. Everyday immigrants commit crimes at a far lower rate than native-born Americans,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“And not only that but the women and children on that border that are trying to seek refuge and seek opportunity in the United States of America with nothing but the shirt on their backs are acting more American than any person who seeks to keep them out ever will be.”

Many were not impressed.

The idea that people who want to encourage legal immigration and discourage illegal immigration—which cheats a huge group of law abiding people—are some how less American than those looking to bypass the system is a disgusting divisive claim meant to drive Americans further apart

In other words @aoc is saying that people whose very act of entry is a violation of the law are more American than those entered the country legally.

How insulting to legal immigrants

Did she seriously say “we have to get the facts straight” when in another super recent interview she said people are too concerned with being factually correct.
